I have come across a book – The Tech Phoenix more than a book, I used to be highly inspired with the author T.N.Manoharan, Padma Shree awardee.

*How Good Intentions had led to hell?:*

In a classic Tamil movie Avvai Shanmugi, the dialogues between Actors Kamal Hassan and Nazer as follows:

Kamal : Why are you working as a sweeper? What happened to your earlier job of “server” in a hotel?

Nazer: To bail you out, police asked Rs 5000 and I had embezzled from the owner’s cash box.

Kamal : Had you been caught while shoplifting?

Nazer : No. Even if it is so, I would have been happy as it’s punishment for my embezzlement.

Kamal : Then…

Nazer: After a week, I had been caught red-handed while reinstating that Rs 5000 cash inside the cash box.

Sathyam story is noway different from the above…

… and had THAT GOOD INTENTION been allowed to happen, Sathyam turmoil wouldn’t have happened at all.

*What’s that GOOD INTENTION had been denied?:*

The promoters duo Ramalinga Raju and Rama Raju had been successfully cooking up the Balance Sheet of Sathyam with enormous – fictitious cash for around Rs 6000 Cr or so over the years.

As a result, Sathyam was considered to be the cash rich company, beaten analysts’ estimates quarter after quarter and thus share price was skyrocketed.

Beyond the certain extent, it was extremely difficult for promoters to uphold the estimates, stock price…

… and thus they had come to realize “the road to heaven so far” may end at any moment.

*Again, these two duos, had contrived with a brilliant idea as follows:*

They had cobbled together all their family real estate properties and formed the new entity called *”MAYTAS INFRA”* and valued at Rs 7000 Cr or so….

…and convinced the board, (despite its warnings such as – deviating from core business, Related Party Transactions, issue shares instead of cash etc)…

…. it’s just valued @ 50% of DLF properties – DLF was #1 in Infrastructure arena at that time.

*Actually, the DUO’S intention was, merging SATYAM & MAYTAS and thus the fictitious cash of Rs 5000 Cr or so created in Satyam Balance Sheet could be swapped with MATYAS, so that their past misappropriation of funds would be set right.*

Alas!! When the proposal was placed in AGM, it was outrightly rejected by Analysts and thus shareholders and so, the duos had to withdraw the proposal.

As the proposal placement was failed, all the high esteemed Independent Directors had submitted their resignations out of shame and thus these two DUOS had been left alone to manage the upcoming days.

Within a week’s time, Ramalinga Raju had confessed his “FICTITIOUS CASH BUILDING B/S” and written a letter to SEBI and the rest is history.

Frankly speaking, these DUOS intentions were too good to make Satyam continue its flagship status…..

….may be as an ATONEMENT for their past misappropriation of funds, they were ready to pledge their entire family real estate properties in lieu of their past misappropriation.

Of course. *Unfortunately, “the path to hell is paved with Good Intentions” had become the Ramalinga Raju’s destiny.*

Go to Old Delhi, behind the Jama Masjid, and look at the way they keep chickens there in the market. Hundreds of pale hens and brightly colored roosters, stuffed tightly into wire-mesh cages, packed as tightly as worms in a belly, pecking each other and shitting on each other, jostling just for breathing space; the whole cage giving off a horrible stench – the stench of terrified, feathered flesh.

On the wooden desk above this coop sits a grinning young butcher, showing off the flesh and organs of a recently chopped-up chicken, still oleaginous with a coating of dark blood.

The roosters in the coop smell the blood from above. They see the organs of their brothers lying around them. *They know they’re next. Yet they fo not rebel.* They do not try to get out of the coop.

The very same thing is done with human beings in this country.

Watch the roads in the evenings in Delhi; sooner or later you’ll see a man on a cycle-rickshaw, pedaling down the road, with a giant bed or a table, tied to the cart that is attached to his cycle. Everyday furniture is delivered to people’s homes by this man – delivery man. A bed costs five thousand rupees, add the chairs and tables costs 10 or 15K. A man comes on a cycle cart, bringing you this bed, table, etc, a poor man who may make five hundred rupees a month. He unloads all this furniture for you and you give him the money in cash – a fat wad of cash the size of a brick. He puts into his underwear, and cycles back to his boss and hands it over without touching a single rupee of it. It’s about his 2 years salary, in his hands, and never takes a rupee of it.

*Because Indians are the world’s most honest people, like the prime minister’s booklet inform you?*

No. It’s because 99.9 percent of us are caught in the rooster coop just like those poor guys in the poultry market.

The rooster coop doesn’t always work with miniscule sums of money. Don’t test your chauffeur with a rupee coin or two – he may well steal that much. But leave a million in front of any servant and he won’t touch a penny.

Why doesn’t that servant take the suitcase full of diamonds?

He’s no Gandhi; he’s a human, he’s you and me. But he’s in the Rooster Coop. The trustworthiness of servants is the basis on the entire Indian economy.

What has / shall have been achieved through “Bharat Jodo Yatra” – by RaGa / congress? :

(1) Radical PERCEPTION SHIFT about RaGa amidst public:

RaGa, hereafter can not be nicknamed as “pappu”, “buddhu”, “born with silver spoon”, “lazy man”, “shirking responsibilities”, “Mom’s baby”, etc…

(2) Radical PERSONALITY SHIFT about RaGa amidst public:

It’s not an easy joke or even impossible task for any boy / man kind of upbringing RaGa has, to get up @ 4AM for 100 days consecutively, hit the road @ 6 AM on the road for Yatra, walking 25 KMS a day for 100 days consecutively, participating lively and extemporaneously (No tele prompter, no senior advises, etc) in stages, extemporaneous interviews to the REPORTERS, etc…and more importantly speaking very sensibly is simply, simply an undaunted achievement.

(3) My kind of SECULARIST and PLURALIST perspective:

(1) RaGa has very well understood about Indian ethos, fabric of our culture, and he has genuine interest and concerns for welfare of our nation and people.

(2) One can easily make out his enormous quest for visualizing India to coexist and prosper along with multiple religions, multiple languages, multiple cultures and especially he has been very much concerning with rural-urban divide, rich-poor divide, unemployment, poverty, pathetic status for agriculturists, etc…

Whether all the above noble qualities of RaGa shall automatically fetch CONGRESS or RaGa the ELECTORAL victory?:

My simple answer is ABSOLUTE NO and the reasons as follows:

(1) RaGa is not a suitable or ideal man for electoral politics.

(2) He’s not of a man possessed with STRATEGIC GENES inherited from Nehru, Indira or Rajiv…

..or even imitated genes or learned genes from Patel, Modi, Shah, Kejiriwal, etc

(3) He has woefully inherited IDEOLOGY BUILDING GENES from Gandhi, Jayaprakash Narayan, Periyar, etc..and awfully none of them including RaGa would NEVER FIT into electoral politics.

(4) To succeed in electoral politics, one should have unquenchable thirst for POWER, and doing any ANYTHING for attaining power…

…. and RaGa, in my opinion, he’s not a POWER HUNGER man. Even Congress wins, he won’t adorn himself as PM. It doesn’t mean that he’s shirking responsibilities *but he’s not a fighter of that kind but of different.

(5) To succeed in electoral politics, one should be fully focused in elections rally and never be a hesitant in decimating rivalries using abusive language, character assassination, polarization, shameless alliances, etc..and RaGa can never do so for his nature.

Of course, all the required dirty politics can be executed by Congress veterans and the Congress minimum expectations from RaGa might be a “silent” spectator like Dr.MMS or Soniya to some extent.

In my opinion, RaGa can’t be RIGHT FIT even for Congress’s minimum expectations of above.

Conclusion:

(1) RaGa can be the fighter like Gandhi, JP, Periyar and he can’t be the fighter like Indira, Advani, Modi, Shah etc..

(2) However, RaGa is very much needed for long and long time for our nation and our Indian politics….

… To speak and fight for reminding the UNMINDFUL POLITICIANS frequently about the “SOUL OF OUR NATION AND ITS CITIZENS.”

*2 HIDDEN COMPONENTS OF ANY CURRENCY IN THE WORLD:*

To reveal the 2 shocking Hidden components of any currency, we have to dwell upon the history / origin of any currency.

*How currency had entered into our day-to-day life?*

When the Agricultural society had come into full bloom, …(around 5000 BC to 3000 BC)

When Agriculture had evolved in such a manner that just few hundred agriculturists could produce the required food for few thousands,…

…those rest of the few thousand citizens had turned out to be redundant in the system.

So, those redundant citizens had started specializing in various fields such as Art, Literature, Philosophy, teaching, accounting, shoe making, jewelry making, medicine, nature, etc…

As a consequence, plethora of commodities had entered into our human society, those administrators had to arrive the APPROPRIATE EXCHANGE RATE for each commodity with respect to another commodity.

(For example, 100 apples equals to how many pairs of shoes, how many pair of shoes equivalent to one medical consultation etc…)

So the administrators and knowledge workers of those days had arrived the brilliant solution in the FORM OF CURRENCY, through which each and every commodity exchange rates could be based on SINGLE COMMODITY called CURRENCY.

*So, one has to clearly understand the fact that any currency in the world is nothing but a paper, which had been invented only for the pure administrative convenience of our human society alone.*

(If you have 2 bananas worth of just Rs 10 in your left hand and stretch Rs 2000 currency note to any monkey from right hand, no monkey in this world would never grab your Rs 2000 currency. Isn’t it?)

*What are those 2 HIDDEN components in any currency?:*

#1: *HUMAN EFFORTS (EXPLOITATION OF…???):*

This first Hidden component of any currency had been revealed during 19th century by Karl Marx and his fraternity, and that’s how COMMUNISM came into existence.

#2: *NATURAL RESOURCES (EXPLOITATION??):*

This 2nd Hidden component had been revealed by ENVIRONMENTALISTS during 20th century (around 1960s) and that’s how ENVIRONMENTALISM came into existence.

(1) One has to realize that each and every currency, in addition to obvious components such as world leader’s emblem on LHS, RBI authority signature on RHS, value at the center,…

… it also consists of 2 HIDDEN components viz (1) part of HUMAN EFFORTS (2) part of NATURAL RESOURCES.

For every entrepreneur, recruiting the RIGHT people for RIGHT compensation and RETAINING them for sufficient length of time is the UTMOST challenge.

If the one who has done it perfectly, even if he’s an IDIOT, he can run the show far superior.

As generally, globally, the businesses are in downward trend, I am in a jittery.

Recently, a girl of just 25+, who’s in a post-natal period, was seeking for a job and her previous salary was 30% to 40% higher than our sort of MSMEs and it’s almost unaffordable for me.

However, my intuition says 2 things, viz, she’s deserved if she approaches in a bigger organization; and Even if I have offered, she may not stay with me beyond 6 months or 1 year, once she’s free from her just born baby.

Contrary to my nature, I have recruited her, even though I could have arm-twisred for a lower salary as her home is walkable distance and I haven’t done so.

*Since I thought let me enjoy dealing with a person “who can pave the road if I just show the direction”, even if it’s for short stint.*

In CNBC, INFOSYS – 40 years CELEBRATION, Narayan Murthy has shared one of the anecdotes which has relieved me from guilt / jittery as follows.

“During February 1979, Nandan had entered into my PCS office and sought for a job.”

“I am wondered and asked Nandan, “It’s already February. All recruitments were over. What did you do till February?”

“Nandan told, “I am preparing for GMAT, to get admission for MBA in foreign universities. So, I have free time till September to work for some one.””

Narayan Murthy concluded that CNBC interview as follows:

*”I have a strong principle that it’s better to have an INTELLIGENT man with you, no matter how short that period is, because that intelligence will add tremendous value to the organization.”*

What great personalities, both of them are!!! who have not only added value to Infosys, but for the entire nation.

*Why most of us are mediocre or even poor?:*

We most of us have been estimated ourselves “superior” rather than actual in intellectual arena.

We want to project ourselves in the public or in any social media as if “we have all the intelligence required” and our poor financial status is not because of lack of intelligence but because of “not blessed” with SUFFICIENT LUCK.

As we believe ourselves “we are blessed with lack of LUCK”, we all go, prostrate and surrender ourselves to the “spiritual gurus, priests, religious sages” as if they would guide us towards the Miracles.

If we analyze the majority of the public, their “SURRENDER” used to be only with spiritual or religious gurus, and downtrodden used to surrender in addition to “political leaders and actors and actresses”.

Very, very few are dare to do “INTELLECTUAL SURRENDER” meaning that if they come across any intellectuals either in person or through social media or in books, they’d surrender unquestionably to them and try to mimic them exactly.

The beauty between surrendering to the spiritual, religious, political personalities Vs intellectual personalities are as follows:

(1) The other gurus expect us to surrender unquestionably but intellectual personalities never allow us to surrender to them.

(2) The other gurus make us believe as if they have all the solutions for all worldly problems and they guide us every now and then if we seek for guidance; but they won’t OWN if it’s undesirable results.

Intellectual people never claim they know anything beyond their expertise and keep their mouth shut beyond their circle of competence.

They never tell us “what to do?. Instead, we need to learn and absorb ourselves based on their actions, results, expressions through their reports, writings, etc..

(3) Other gurus influence their full authority on their disciples till they’re no more and they’ll never be ready to give up their authority.

Intellectuals never assume responsibility for anyone’s life. Even if they do so, they would guide their students at appropriate time to the next superior Intellectuals by raising their hands as “my intellect has limitations.”
(Ex: Vasistar guided Rama appropriately to Viswamitra…)

Where can we find those Intellectuals?

In biographies, history, libraries, etc…such as Darwin, Newton, Einstein, Warren Buffet, Gandhi, Gates, etc…

For example, Warren Buffet has been identified as a superior investment personality even during 1980s in USA. PETER LYNCH has been well-known since 1990s.

The so many ordinary men in USA, who have exactly evaluated their own intellectual gaps, has simply surrendered themselves to WB, peter Lynch,etc and started mimicked their portfolios since 1980s are billionaires today.

Similarly, recently I have come across few interviews of NARAIN OF ICICI, PRASHANT, etc are no less than Peter Lynch of India.

Had I been surrendered myself to these Indian Intellectuals at least since 2000, I would have accumulated enormous wealth.

So, the order of the day is, one should realize his intellectual gaps and surrender himeself to fill those gaps shall fetch you greater life than blind surrender to other gurus.

30 days : 1 moving moment and 1 nadir moment of my life.

After all, upgrading the life is , recalling the happy moments again and again emotionally and analyzing the setbacks threadbare till learning the lessons.

From September to till Senthil’s daughter marriage (October), we both of us were into financial transactions, though settled orally every now and then. Even, when Senthil had returned Chennai after a week or so, once again he confirmed with me orally that he had settled everything.

It’s my decades old practice that I reconcile my account and unna’s bank accounts on 1st of every month.

Accordingly, 1st November, I found 60K excess transfer from Senthil that churned mixed feelings in me – pleasant as well as unpleasant feelings.

(Unpleasant feeling is due to my account is going to be minus 60K, which I thought of my money and already invested. Pleasant feeling is due to, God’s grace, I’ve found it before Senthil did.)

I checked once again, reconfirmed myself and phone to Senthil around 11 AM or so and asked to check his account whether he had made excess payments.

Then I had involved into “Phishing scam – 50K transfer” by responding to Whatsapp call, realized only @ 6 PM that I had committed Himalayan blunder which I would never forgive myself lifetime.

Senthil called me next day only around 10 AM or so and obviously started his conversation from my 50K blunder.

I told Senthil desperately or in a lighter vain that, “Don’t drop another bomb by telling “yes. I have made 60K excess.” If so, then my loss will not be 50K but of 110K inclusive of my 60K return to you.

Then senthil started his conversation seriously as,…he was very emotional for my gesture of being “honest” by admitted 60K excess.

Senthil to me on phone:

“That’s why I called you. I would have never reconciled my transactions with you. Because I would have frittered another a lakh or plus during this marriage processes towards excess grocery, vegetables, etc…”

“Had it not been you, there’s no chance of getting 60K again. So, for me this 60K is nothing but fresh income only and I consider it’s God gift for having associated with good people.”

He continued:

“How much crores you may have, losing 50K to unknown person must be very hard moments for you. At least, I can shoulder your bad time financially by bearing your losses 50%.”

“So consider your financial loss is just 25K instead of 50K, and come out quickly from this ugly episode by consolating yourself as “even elephant slips occasionally.”

Note : The above writing may only deserve a place for my personal dairy, not to group. However I don’t differentiate much between personal and this kind of small 9 group.

(I never have the habit of Journaling. Registering my life happenings through writing becomes the habit since 2014.)

One morning in the year 523 AD, 40 year old, Boethius, was accused of having involved in conspiracy against the king, was arrested, his assets, library, etc were confiscated and sentenced to death.

Boethius was immensely successful and celebrated for having had perfect marriage, children, who could dedicate himself in translation of books from Greek to Latin that’s rare skill during those days.

As Boethius had sat in jail, awaiting execution wrote a book “The consolation of Philosophy” and it’s recommendations follows.

# 1: *Accept the existence of FATE:*

In those days, people liked to personify fate as Fortuna, a goddess who turned the wheel of fortune, in which highs and lows were endlessly rotated. Those who played along, hoping to catch the wheel as it rose, had to accept that eventually they’d come down once more.

#2: Everything you own, value and love is ephemeral – your health, your partner, your children, friends, house, money, reputation, status, etc.

Don’t set your heart on those things. Always be aware that they are fleeting, fragile and temporary.

The best attitude to have is that all of them are loan to you, and may be taken away at any time.

#3: *What can’t be taken away from you are your thoughts, your Mental tools, the way you interpret bad luck, loss and setbacks.*

All stock markets wipe out, pink slips, partner falls in love with FB friend, etc are of course BAD, but not deadly.

The greatest trials of fate (such as thousands of agonizing births of our mothers, grandmothers, bleeding child deaths etc) we have already overcome.

Simply, we should realize that all of our possessions, status, power, etc could be taken from us in a split second – as it was with Boethius.

*Happiness can be found only in your mental fortress. So invest in it.*

*The SMALLER MEANING of Life >> Larger meaning of life:*

If one is trying to find the “larger meaning of life” such as “Why am I on this earth? Why does this universe exist? What would be after death?” etc will be utter waste of time.

Mythology may have plethora of answers but science has found no answer to the “larger meaning of life” questions.

*All it knows about life is that it will continue to develop AIMLESSLY as long as there’s sufficient material and energy available.*

*There’s no discenible overarching propose – not for humanity, not for life or not for universe.*

*THE WORLD IS FUNDAMENTALLY MEANINGLESS. SO STOP LOOKING FOR THE “LARGER MEANING OF LIFE.*

*”SMALLER MEANING of Life, however is crucial such as personal goals, ambitions, mission etc”*

*”There can be NO GOOD LIFE without PERSONAL GOALS.”*

Life goals are massively important. It’s not money or position that makes one’s happy or unhappy; *it’s whether or not one has realized his ambitions.*

Why do goals work?

(1) Because goal oriented people put more efforts in to accomplish the same.

(2) Because goals make decisions easier.

Only thing to be taken care off while setting goals is that it should be realistic and high chances of attainable.
