*நேற்று இறந்த என் பள்ளித் தமிழாசிரியர் திரு. பாலசுப்ரமணியன் அவர்கள் நினைவாக :*

1983-84 ல் நான் +1 சேர்ந்த போது என்னுடைய “பொதுத்தமிழ்” ஆசிரியர் அவர்.

முதல் நாளே, அழகு தமிழில் அவரை அறிமுகப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளும் விதமாக

*”கீழே பாதரசமும் மேலே கம்பரசமும் பருகும் விசித்திரமான சுவைஞன் நான்”*

என்ற போது நான் சற்றே நிமிர்ந்து “அட! அற்புதம்” என்று மனதிற்குள் சொன்னபடி கவனிக்க ஆரம்பித்தேன்.

அன்று அவர் நடத்தும் பாடம் : *”வாலி வதைப்படலம்”.*

மாலை 4 மணிக்கு ஆரம்பித்து 5.30 வரை மிக அழகிய தமிழில் என்னை கவர்ந்தாலும் ஒரு கட்டத்திற்கு மேல் என் கோபம் பொங்கும் அளவிற்கு ராமனை விமர்சித்தும் வாலியை வானாலவா புகழ்ந்து தள்ளினார்.

அப்போது மாணவர்கள் குறுக்கிட்டு கேள்வி கேட்கும் வழக்கம் இல்லை. என்னுடைய தமிழ் அறிவு என்பது பூஜ்ஜியம்.

ஆனாலும் என் கோபம் என்னை உந்தி தள்ள நான் எழுந்து “ராமன் நேராக வாலியை எதிர் கொள்ள முடியாதே. வேறு ராமன் என்னதான் செய்ய முடியும் என்றேன்.”

அவர் கொடுத்த விளக்கம் எனக்கு திருப்தியாக இல்லை.

என்னை பொறுத்த வரை ராமன் கதாநாயகன் ஆயிற்றே. அவன் ஜெயிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதல்லவா நியதி.

எனது பள்ளி இரு பிரிவு (திராவிடர், ஆரியர்) கொண்டது.

அன்று மாலையே, எதிர் துருவமான கண்ணன் எனும் கணக்கு ஆசிரியர் வீட்டிற்குச் சென்று நடந்தவற்றை கூறினேன்.

அவர் அவருக்கே உரிய பாணியில், கரும் பலகை அருகே சென்று

*”A killed B. C killed A”. Here “C” is the JUDGE.”*

இப்போது சொல் “C” மீது தவறு சொல்வாயா?

“மாட்டேன் என்றேன்.” அந்த C தான் ராமன் என்றார்.

பிறகு காலாச்சக்கரத்தில் சிக்கி சின்னபின்னாமாகி தமிழை மறந்து 10 வருடம் கழித்து “47V” ல் அம்பத்தூர் வேலையை முடித்து 6 மணிக்கு திரும்பும் போது ஒரு சுவரொட்டி கண்டு தொபெரென்று பேருந்தில் இருந்து குதித்தேன்.

AVM ராஜேஸ்வரி ஹாலில் “வாலி வதை – ராமன் குற்றவாளியா” இன்று 6 மணிக்கு என்று இருந்தது.

அந்த பட்டிமன்றம் இரவு 10 மணி வரை நடந்தது. இன்று உலகப்புகழ் பெற்ற பேச்சாளர்கள் எல்லாம் பேசினார்கள். நடுவர் “தமிழ் உள்ளவரை, தமிழர்கள் உள்ளவரை இந்த வாதம் தொர்ந்து கொண்டே இருக்கும் என்று பட்டிமன்றத்தை முடித்தார்.

என் இனிய அந்த தமிழ் ஆசிரியர் “உள்ளூர் பாலு சார்” அவ்வாறு என் ஆர்வத்தை தூண்டும் விதத்தில் நடத்தி இருக்காவிட்டால் என் தமிழ் அன்றே என்னுள் இறந்து போய் இருக்கும்.

என்னுள் இன்றளவும் தமிழ் தாகத்தை உயிர்புடன் இருப்பதற்கு ஒரு கருவியாக இருந்த என் ஐயா பாலு சார் அவர்கள் ஆத்மா சாந்தி அடைய வேண்டுகிறேன்.

After having started wearing entrepreneurial hat, my mind always thinks of every cash transactions – incoming cash and outgoing cash …

about *how it impacts my profits for the current financial year and thus my tax payments to government.

After having gained basic financial acumen, I used to resolve this conundrum by simply categorizing all my cash transactions as…

*which would go into P&L statements and which would go into B/S.*

The following concept is the very basic one and it’s very much applicable for professionals and individuals too.

If any cash transactions happen either be it organizations or individuals,

…be it cash comes into organization or goes out of organization can be broadly categorized in to *4 major headings* as follows.

*CASH COMES IN:* It can happen broadly only in 2 ways.

Way#1 :

Through SALES – for organizations

or through SALARIES – for professionals / individuals.

Way#2:

Either through decreased ASSETS (selling assets)..

or through increased LIABILITIES (loan from bank or others).

Similarly,

*CASH GOES OUT:* It can happen broadly only in 2 ways.

Way#1:

All regular expenses which mandatorily have to happen to run organizations or families smoothly.

Way#2:

Either through increase in ASSETS (Purchase assets) or through decrease in LIABLITIES (Repayments of LOANS).

To conclude:

(1) In above, Both WAY#1 transactions (for CASH COMES IN and CASH GOES OUT) falls into PROFIT & LOSS statements and …

*….can directly impact PROFITS and thus TAXES.*

(2) In above, Both WAY#2 transactions ( for CASH IN and CASH OUT) falls into BALANCE SHEETS statements and

*…may have very little or NO impact on PROFITS and thus on TAXES.*

*Most of the entrepreneurs try to push as much items as possible into WAY#1 transactions if it’s profitable organizations to decrease TAX OUTGO.

Michelangelo’s answer: *”It’s simple. I removed everything that is not David.”*

Successes in Life is that must simple. Without understanding that simplicity, we keep on chasing successes in terms of money, fame and power.

Let’s be honest. We don’t know for sure what makes one successful? We can’t pinpoint exactly what makes us happy?

But we know with certainty what destroys success or happiness. This realization, as simple as it is fundamental.

*Negative knowledge (what not to do) is much more potent than positive knowledge (what to do).*

*Don’t focus on David. Instead, focus everything that is not David and CHISEL it away.*

*Eliminate all errors and better thinking will follow.*

We cannot say what brings us success. We can pin down only what blocks or obliterates success.

*Eliminate the downside, the thinking errors, and the upside will take care off itself.*

Warren Buffett says, *”Charlie and I have not learned how to solve difficult business problems. What we have learned is TO AVOID THEM.”*

The same concept is put it in different way by Charlie Mungar as, *”Tell me where I am going to DIE. So that I won’t go there.”*

*INVERT. INVERT. ALWAYS INVERT the complex problems.*

After all, *Focus on everything that is not David.*

Politics and religion- vicious circle

I am wondering, most of the people, I have been coming across are extremely courteous, lovable, adjustable, magnonimous, generous and possessing other plethora of divine qualities and no one is exception.

They all exhibit these divine qualities frequently with their kith and kin, siblings, parents, friends, social media, workplaces, etc..

When money, lack of trust, etc intrude between these close friendships, siblings, etc, it gets just temporary setback….

….however it’s always getting resolved with the help of counseling, neutral friends, parents etc are those of at better mental status for that particular situation, by bringing aggrieved parties to negotiation table.

However, the permanent rift, hatred, heated arguments, impoliteness, I know everything, you are fool, etc are set in even with decade close friendships, with own brothers, etc….when two demons get intruded between them…

…. and it reaches to unresolvable UGLY, UNPALATABLE, out of proportional conflicts for lifelong time.

Those two are….

(#1) PLOITICS (#1) RELIGION.

(#2)RELIGION (#2) POLITICS

One drives the other and the other drives the rift bigger, and this vicious spiral circle keep on blown up and permanent rift and hatred set in.

டானாக்காரன் Tamil movie review: 124/2022

It’s a very decent movie. It’s a must watch as it is talking about *the history of the existence of Indian POLICE system and it’s TRAINING processes starting from year 1840.*

It’s the debut movie for the director Tamil, who had been serving as a police for 15 years.

So, he had authentically and genuinely expressed his deep anguish about how the police training system has been degenerated like a gangeronus wound due to century old methodology, punishments, corruption, egoism, etc…

….and reminding the governments about how urgently that gangrenous wound is to be *amputated by “REFORMATION”.*

I should appreciate the director for this one dialogue alone *while defining a “Indian Police system”* as …

*it’s the nauseated child born for a ROGUE BRITISH and FOOLISH POLITICIANS (Indian).*

I wish let the movie spread across the country and thus governments may initiate *POLICE TRAINING REFORMATION* at least now.

Manmatha leelai – movie review

Watched “Manmatha leelai” (மன்மத லீலை) Tamil movie yesterday.

It’s Venkat Prabu’s “QUICKY” movie

Decent 2 hour movie.
Except 2 liplocks for few seconds, no adult contents.

Brilliant non-linear screen play and thus challenging editing (by switching between 2010 and 2020) has made the film quite Interesting and also made it as intellectual watch.

Premji’s BGM in few critical places is hilarious.

No harm in watching with family if children are 18+

Sensor “A” certificate is not justifiable and very unfair. Just U/A is fair.

2 hours simple entertainment.

Blue collar jobs Vs WHITE collar jobs

*BLUE COLLAR JOBS Vs WHITE COLLAR JOBS*

I am not sure how that “BLUE Vs WHITE” phrase has turned out to be prevalent especially in WORKPLACES.

However, the following reason may be helpful to enhance our understanding to grasp the entire article.

*My reason:*

*If we wear a white shirt, it can’t be worn next day. However, navy blue shirt can be worn for couple of days.*

Similarly, a man or woman who does REPETITIVE jobs @ workplace everyday might be designated as “BLUE COLLAR” or WORKER.

To simplify further, a man who does BLUE collar jobs means, he shall come to work on Monday 9 AM, start from “0” and ends with say “10” and go home @ 5 PM.

*NATURE OF BLUE COLLAR JOBS:*

The Blue collar man shall come to work on Tuesday 9AM, start from “0” to “10” and go home @ 5pm, and he’ll do the same thing from “0 …10” from Monday to Saturday and start again the same from “0…10” from next Monday to Saturday and on….and on…and on….

*NATURE OF WHITE COLLAR JOBS:*

However, the job of the *”white collar”* man is radically different from the job of *”blue collar”*.

He too comes to office, regularly and repeatedly, sits in the same chair as “blue collar” does, and stays from 9Am to 5PM, but the job and the RESULTS expected from him is not repetitive.

He’s expected to start on Monday from 6 and may end with 8 or 10. Again starts from 8 and may end up with 4 or 5. Then next day, he may start with 4 and end with 45 or 75 or so.

To make it simple,…

*FOR BLUE COLLAR JOBS:*

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ACTIVITIES @ WORK PLACE are one and the same for all the days, months, years to come and thus CONSTANT RESULTS are EXPECTED.

*FOR WHITE COLLAR JOBS:*

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES may be same for days, months and years to come. However, MENTAL ACTIVITIES shall never be the same and it’ll have growth on someday, regressive on another day and thus expected RESULTS are to be EXPONENTIAL.

*The above “WHITE COLLAR Vs BLUE COLLAR” concept has been prevailing in workplaces only.*

However, it should be extended to

*”RELATIONSHIPS, PARTNERSHIPS and, FRIENDSHIPS.”*

We should be able to recognize which relations or RELATIVES are “BLUE COLLAR RELATIVES” and who are all “WHITE COLLAR RELATIONS”.

Similarly, we should categorize who are all “BLUE COLLAR FRIENDS” and “WHITE COLLAR FRIENDS”, etc…

If you want to achieve EXPONENTIAL growth, draw Miracles in your life, or to become a LEGEND,….

….then, you need to focus more on building more and more *”WHITE COLLAR RELATIONSHIPS, PARTNERSHIPS and FRIENDSHIPS.”*

*It should be extended to “WHATSAPP” and other social media group too.*

*If it’s a blue collar group, one should try to convert it into WHITE collar group or else search for some other “WHITE COLLAR groups.”*

It’s 1991, I joined Tribology India Limited, founded just few years ago for the TVS group under the aegis of DR. Gopal, one of the reputed Metallurgists all over India.

Obviously, we are all aware of the inherent nature of TVS groups’ recruitment policies and thus central office in Mount road *was filled by highly brilliant employees hailed from the top most community.*

As Dr.Gopal was in to aggressive mode of expansion, he had been kept on opening small Heat Treatment units throughout India.

Accordingly, we kind of people hailed from village, who couldn’t only utter a single word in English, but also fearful of beautiful young girls, Aircondition atmosphere, pompous upholstery in huge office etc happened to be *recruited for ₹1500 per month salary.*

The very first day, few of the new recruits were guided by one very beautiful young girl, say Alexa, 26 or so, unmarried, tall, slim, fair, worn half saree, 2 large pendant earrings – dancing according to the tune of her tone of voice, she had effortlessly switched between English – Tamil, *made us not seductive towards her but made us jittery, shivering, etc…by witnessing her eloquence.*

She had lucidily explained us about the rules of the company, where do we need to go, to whom we needed to report, what’s the town bus number, etc in a neat white paper with sharp pencil.

To be frank, I never had an experience of being at such a close vicinity of any young girls who can be so fluent in English, smiles, not caring about talking to young boys, etc…*made me feel very small, inferior about myself and felt guilty of not able to impress her with neither language nor understanding, etc..*

Later, we realized, she’s the personal secretary of Dr. Gopal and her salary was ₹7000+ and it’s a huge salary as ours is just ₹1500.

We understood, she’s capable of recalling few 100s phone numbers, and *she’s capable of getting the job done exactly before it used to appear in Dr. Gopal’s mind.*

*To be short, I was aspiring, longing, begging, yearning, craving,… to become like her.*

*Even today, even after my hard trying to become like her, I haven’t even achieved 50% of her qualities of that time.*

However, I, after having assumed entrepreneurship since 2011, a tiny girl hailed from slum, not even +2, joined me for ₹6000 salary per month by that time and now drawing more or less 25K – CTC per month.

Now, she’s looking after entire office operations including 100% accounts in our office.

Recently my wife has been preparing for traveling abroad and her entire travel formalities such as Covid protocol, international SIM, etc…has been looked after by her without any of our interference.

*The way Alexa acted upon before the ideas arouse to Dr. Gopal’s mind, she too has been evolved and mimicked her all qualities to picture perfect.*

*My realizations:*

#1) I was wrongly aspired to become such a girl like Alexa during 1991 without realizing,….

*… I am not meant for becoming like a secretary Alexa, but capabe of playing much bigger role like Dr. Gopal in DEVELOPING PEOPLE…though of tiny miniature version of Dr. Gopal.*

#2) *Not only my office girl, but also me, if one gets proper ambience, freedom and encouragement, any one can make impact in this world irrespective of where we had hailed from such as higher caste or lower caste, slum or village or town, educated parents or not matters at all.*

Intrinsic value

Simple understanding about INTRINSIC value of a company:*

My posts are read hardly by 4 or 5.

Out of that 4 or 5, I used to receive hardly one 🙏 or rarely 👌.

Today to my surprise, one young chap of 25 years old, mechanical engineer asked me ….

*How does one have to arrive INTRINSIC value of any company?*

This can neither be explained in Whatsapp nor I am competent enough.

However, I want to reply by encouraging that young boy in a *very very simple way without using any esoteric jargon.*

*INTRINSIC value of any company:*

*First one should understand that INTRINSIC value of any company is just a NOTIONAL number.*

*It’s not a precise value*

*It is wavering between REAL WORTH of the company and Market value of the company.*

*How to calculate the INTRINSIC value of the company?:*

*Disclaimer:*

(1) The following is just for understanding purpose.

(2) The following method may not be suitable for loss making companies or technology companies or any high growth oriented companies.

(3) It may be roughly suitable for only conservative and age old traditional companies.

*Assumptions:*

(1) Say, the company has been making PROFITS of “X” crores year on year for the last 10 years.

(2) Assume that company may survive for another 2 to 3 decades easily irrespective of any onslaughts such as competition, technological disruptions, etc..

(3) Assume that company can maintain its profits for another 2 or 3 decades.

*Calculations:*

#1: Company’s profits : PBDIT = “X” Cr.
(PBDIT : Profit before depreciation, interst and tax)

#2: Consider PBDIT “X” Cr as *PERPETUITY.*
(Perpetuity Means “X” Cr will remain for ever.)

#3: To earn that “X” Crores, in RISK FREE INVESTMENTS, then Fixed Deposits is the main OPTION.

#4: In India, FD returns are around 7%. Safer side, Assume 8.5%

#5: *INTRINSIC value of the company:*

*Intrinsic Value = {(PBDIT/8.5%) minus DEBTS if any}*

Hope not, my reader base may reduce from 4 to 3 after reading this long post.
